Audiobook narration for mindfulness, meditation and psychology books
Your words, with room to be heard.
A reflective book asks something different of a voice than an advertisement. I approach narration through clarity, pacing and emotional restraint, so the ideas can remain at the centre of the listening experience.
I’m Camilla Wellton, the voice behind Gyndroid. I welcome audiobook enquiries from authors and publishers working in English, Swedish and French.
Hear the voice first
Listen to this English narration demo for clarity, pacing and how the voice carries a longer thought. Your manuscript has its own rhythm. A representative excerpt helps us discuss how that rhythm might sound.
Mindfulness and meditation books
A chapter may move from an explanation into a practice, then back into reflection. We plan those transitions rather than reading every passage at the same speed. A guided exercise may need a marked pause or an invitation to stop the recording; an explanatory passage may need a more conversational pace.
For meditation books, we can also discuss separate companion tracks. Keeping a practice as its own recording may suit the way you want listeners to return to it, without changing the structure of the audiobook itself.
Psychology and reflective nonfiction
Psychology manuscripts can combine research, technical terms, personal stories and practical exercises. We discuss pronunciation, emphasis and the distinction between the author’s explanation and any quoted material. Warmth should not turn a qualified statement into a stronger claim than the text makes.
The author or publisher approves the manuscript and any adaptations for audio. I provide narration, not clinical review or endorsement. Tables, figures, references and passages that depend on a printed page need an agreed treatment before recording.
What to include in an audiobook enquiry
Send the book’s subject, language, manuscript word count and a short excerpt. Include your intended audience, schedule, distribution plans and any pronunciation notes. Tell me whether the text is final or still being edited.
We agree on the scope, usage and delivery requirements for your project. Chapter splits, opening and closing credits, revisions and any distributor specifications should be part of that conversation. Platform acceptance or a fixed price is not implied by a demo.
